The SL Panniers are designed by riders, for riders.

Bicycle panniers have been around forever and there are some very developed designs out there. However, many of those designs are from the era of heavily-loaded road touring, when riders carried so much weight that an extra few pounds for the bags themselves simply didn’t matter. Modern camping gear has become very small and light, and this means that panniers can go on a diet as well to keep overall rig weight down. Enter our SL Panniers - SuperLight, high-performance, and beautifully crafted.

Unlike most other panniers on the market, the SL Panniers use a deceptively simple strap-and-buckle arrangement of our own design instead of plastic or metal hooks for attachment to the rack. This system is extremely secure, less prone to breakage, and has ZERO rattle. (Our invention has been copied and even bragged about by a large competitor, but it’s only original once!) An internal framesheet keeps the rack-side panel firmly in place against the rack, and the roll-top bag is highly weather-resistant and durable.

On the road or trail, the SL Panniers are quiet and tight against the rack. They ride high enough, and are slim enough, to provide great clearance for trail obstacles, and aren’t too obtrusive for the inevitable hike-a-bike.

Compatibility: The SL Panniers are compatible with many racks, both rear and front. Look at the diagram in the photostream, and use the following specs to make certain the SuperLights will work on your rack:

• Upper straps, outside-to-outside: 6.5"

• Upper straps, inside-to-inside: 3.5" (use these two measurements to check for rack deck crossbar interference)

• Minimum height from any upper rail of rack to lower rail of rack: 11.5”

• Maximum height from any upper rail of rack to lower rail of rack: 15.5”

Step-by-step:

1) Install the upper straps onto your rack's upper rail by placing the webbing with buckle over the rack rail, then thread the velcro through the buckle on the inside of the rack rail. It can be easier to flip an SL Pannier up on its head, over your rack, to better access the velcro. Then, simply pull snug and attach the velcro to the back of the pannier. Done correctly, the webbing is all that will contact the rack's rail. DO NOT simply pass the velcro over the rack and skip the webbing-and-buckle arrangement!

2) Once you have both upper straps in place, take the strap on the lower corner of the SL Pannier, thread around your rack's lower rail, and fasten the buckle. Pull snug. Tidy the excess strap with the included velcro strap keeper.

Loading, securing, and riding with the SL Panniers is easy! Simply pack (heavier items on the bottom and up against the rack side), roll the top down tight, buckle up and go ride.
